This hand-stitched ornament is inspired by the Mari Lwyd, the winter horse figure rooted in Welsh folklore. As someone with Welsh heritage, this piece holds a personal connection for me at Yuletide.

Made entirely by hand using 100% wool felt produced in Europe, the ornament is finished with layered felt, cotton stitching, red satin ribbons, and tiny bells that give a soft, ceremonial jingle. Each piece is filled using the trimmed felt offcuts created during its making, an intentional choice to reduce waste and honour the materials.

The Mari Lwyd is an ancient midwinter custom in which a white horse figure travels from door to door, bringing blessings, wit, and a spark of mischief during the darkest nights of the year.

A striking Yule decoration that feels deeply rooted in winter ritual and Welsh tradition, designed to bring folklore, protection, and a touch of magic to your seasonal celebrations for many years to come.

Because each ornament is hand-stitched, tiny differences will appear from piece to piece. These variations are part of its charm and uniqueness.
