This is the original Memento Mori embroidery, created especially for my book Creepy Embroidery and photographed for the publication.

The design takes inspiration from Vanitas still life paintings and their focus on mortality and knowledge. The skull, books and subtle metallic details create a striking embroidered memento mori that captures the quiet beauty of the macabre.
